Ginena Harkins is a passionate leader of safety, health and environmental programs with over a decade of experience across multiple industries, including utilities, steel forging, aircraft assembly and currently biopharmaceuticals. She is currently the Director of Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) at the AstraZeneca Research & Development Boston, MA site. Ginena is an active member of the Global AstraZeneca Green Labs team, the Team Lead for her site’s AZ Green Labs program and a leader in developing the site’s Zero Carbon by 2025 playbook. She is a staunch advocate for bringing together corporate leaders, scientists, facilities engineers and SHE professionals to continuously improve the environmental sustainability of research lab operations. Ginena earned her bachelor’s degree in Public Health from Southern Connecticut State University and MBA from University of New Haven.
