Alejandra Menchaca received her Ph D. in Mechanical Engineering from MIT with a minor in building physics. Ale co-led Thornton Tomasetti's Boston Sustainability practice for the past 3 years, lending her expertise to a diverse range of net-zero projects including laboratories, public schools, healthcare facilities, and housing developments. She is an expert on natural ventilation, complex HVAC design, daylighting, and more. As a voting member of the ASHRAE 62.1 committee and executive committee member of IBPSA's Boston chapter, Ale is well versed in public processes and combines her passion for buildings with advocacy for progressive policy in the built environment.
